Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC)
Location: Geneva, IL & Elgin, IL (must be willing to travel to multiple site locations)
Status: Full-time (40 hours per week)
Hours: M-F, including evenings and rotating Saturdays
Summary
Responsible for assisting in the delivery of orthopedic care in a clinic.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Verify patient information by interviewing patient and recording medical history.
- Prepare patient for examination by performing preliminary physical tests including taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature. Responsible to ensure information is accurately documented.
- Prepare equipment, injections, educational materials, etc. during treatment and examination of patients.
- Perform patient care including cast application/removal, splinting, post-op wound care, injections, fitting patients for braces and suture and staple removal.
- Communicate with patients and families regarding processes and procedures.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
- Maintain adequate supplies in examination rooms.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and Athletic Trainer Certified (ATC)
- Must be CPR/AED certified
Preferred:
- Two (2) plus years of relevant medical assistant or athletic training work experience, preferably in an orthopedic setting
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
